TNDALU ADMISSION
3 YEAR LL.B. DEGREE COURSE
I. DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME:
The duration of the LL.B. Degree Course offered in the Thirteen Government Law Colleges
and Two Private Law Colleges Affiliated to the Law University is three Academic Years.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:
The eligibility criteria for admission is as per the Bar Council of India Regulations-2008 and State
Government Norms. The eligibility norms as prescribed by the University and approved by the
Syndicate are as follows:
(a) Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed any Bachelor Degree Course of
any University recognized by University Grants Commission and should have secured not
less than 45% of marks (in aggregate). Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities should
have secured 40% of marks in aggregate in the qualifying degree course.
For purpose of ranking, marks obtained in the Major and Allied subjects alone will be taken

(b) The following eligibility criteria are to be compulsorily fulfilled by the Applicants:
1. Studied Upto 9th Standard - Regular Schooling AND
2. Studied 10th Standard and 12th Standard (Regular or Private) AND
3. Degree (Any Under Graduation) – Regular, Correrpondance, Distance, Open
University;
4. Only Under Graduation will be taken for Eligibility and Rank Percentage of Marks;
5. Diploma and ITI are not Eligible as it is not Equivalent to Higher Secondary that is 12th
Standard (+2).
The above state of law regarding the eligibility criteria are in accordance with the Bar
Council of India Rules of Legal Education, 2008 and W.P. No. 15278 of 2019 dated
24.07.2019, W.P. No. 31161 of 2019 dated 19-08-2020, W.P. No. 31043 of 2017 dated
13.03.2018, W.P. No. 7094 of 2021 dated 17.03.2021, W.P. No. 10684 of 2021 dated 06.07.2021,
W.P. No.9961 of 2021 dated 08.07.2021 and W.P. Nos. 2872, 5870 of 2021 dated 01.09.2021.
(c) No Age limit for admission.
(d) Employed candidates are not eligible to apply.
(e) The Transgender or Eunuch (Thirunangai or Aravani) candidates are included under Most
Backward Class and such candidates are required to choose the option as Most Backward
Class.
Note: (1) Candidates should have obtained the Degree / Provisional Certificate in the qualifying
examination on the date of their counselling. Otherwise, their candidature will not be
considered.
(2) Candidates shall furnish the photo copy of the Consolidated Mark Statement of their
qualifying degree course obtained from the University or from the institution where they
studied, along with the application.
PUBLICATION OF RANK LIST:
The applications will be scrutinized and the Rank List will be published in the notice boards
of the University and its Affiliated Government Law Colleges. It can also be perused on the
University‟s Website www.tndalu.ac.in.
IX. COUNSELLING, ALLOTMENT AND ADMISSION:
(1) Counselling:
Counselling: Counselling Sessions will be conducted only through Online Mode. The
counselling information will be intimated to selected candidates through the E-mail
(provided by the candidates) and also via SMS to candidates.
Those candidates, who intend to join the 3 Year LL.B. Degree Course, should have passed in
their qualifying examination, obtained the mark statements and also submitted the same
along with the requisite Original Certificates (Degree Certificate /Provisional Certificate,
Community Certificate, Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate and Special Category
Certificate). The Candidates who score marks above the cut-off marks in their category alone
shall be called for Counselling Session.
The candidates failing to submit the requisite Original Certificates (scanned copy) will not
be permitted to take part in the counselling and will lose the right of admission.
